I'm seeing a message about a Javascript Error and the panel won't load!

We had some reports that, following Photoshop's update to 2024 25.12 (stable or Beta) or 2025 26.0 (stable or Beta) some users are seeing a message like this one:

And the relative extension (Magic Touch Standard or Magic Scape) is just showing an empty window.

We were able to determine that this is a problem that occurs in the vast majority of cases when Photoshop is updated from an existing version (from 25.11 or earlier) and launched in Rosetta mode on computers equipped with an Apple Silicon chip.

Our tests have shown that in most occurrences the solution to the problem is quite simple, and it is enough to follow the procedure listed below to return to being able to use the extensions without any problems.

1. Open the Creative Cloud app in the Apps tab and find Photoshop.

2. Click on the More actions menu in the photoshop pane

3. From the menu that appears, select the Uninstall item.

4. A confirmation window will pop-up asking if you want to keep the current settings and plugins: click on Keep

5. After the uninstall has completed, you should see that the button in the Photoshop pane changed from Open to Install. Just click on it to start a fresh installation.

6. You can now start Photoshop in Rosetta again, either by clicking on the Open with Rosetta item in the More actions menu or by following the same procedure you did the first time (if you need a reminder you can find it here).

Your extensions should now open and work without any problems!

If for some reason this is not the case, it is possible that the problem goes a little deeper, and you can also refer to this solution from an old post in the Adobe Community that some of our test users have reported having worked in their cases:
